The Past New Years & 2009 Firsts

We are at home tonight for New Years Eve 09/10. We have a very sick little girl. She's either sleeping or crying. At the moment she's in her daddies lap watching Three Stooges with him. I would much rather stay at home, I've kind of gotten out of going out and partying till midnight. I'm not much on getting a sitter either. I'd rather have my girl with me.

So I thought I'd do a little (long) recap of New Years in the past and some pictures of Kynlie through out 2009. So get ready for lots of pictures!

This was Bradley and I at our first New Years Eve together 04/05

These picture are some of my favorites. This was New Years Eve 07/08. That's the day I found out I was pregnant with Kynlie. You can see it all over my face. Brad and I were the only ones that knew that night (we didn't tell family or friends till I was 11 weeks). If they would have thought about it, they all could have figured it out. My face says it all

This was Kynlie's first New Years Eve 08/09

Here are pictures through out Kynlie's first year 2009.

Christmas Eve Tradition

We are starting a Christmas Eve Tradition this year and hope to continue it as long as Kynlie will let us. We never had a real tradition growing up. My favorite part of Christmas Eve was every year as long as I could remember we went to my Papa and Ma's (my mom's parents) house for Christmas Eve dinner and open LOTS of presents over. They lived in Mesquite TX and to me, as a little girl, thought that was such a far drive and I loved it. One of my favorite things about going over to Papa and Ma's was me and my twin cousins would eat every single black olive and pickle. It was our favorite! Or we would slide down their stair on our bottoms (as kids, not adults HA), they always went all out on presents each year. There were only 5 grandchildren, until my niece came along in 1995 and she made 6. I remember driving home on Christmas Eve night, looking up in the sky, looking for Santa. I had always hoped I'd see him on the way home. I sure do miss those days, I wish my Papa and Ma were still here so Kynlie could enjoy them too, but I know they are spending Christmas with the best person ever, Jesus! How lucky are they?!

Now back to our Christmas Eve Tradition...
Every year, I'm going to buy Kynlie a cute pair of Christmas pajamas and a Christmas book or movie and let her open it on Christmas Eve and she will wear her pj's and we, as a family will read her book or watch a movie. I'm sure as she gets older, we will be watching more Christmas movies than reading a book. It will be something new every year too. I also like the idea of Brad and I getting each other Christmas pj's to wear. I got me a pair this year, but we didn't Brad...we'll have to work on that next year.
So here we go...
Her first rip of the paper

There are her cute pj's

Now her book. "Mickey Saves Santa"

She took a break to watch a little of The Christmas Story

Still watching the movie. Is that face not just beautiful?!

After opening the presents, it's time for a bath and get in the pj's and snuggle up on the recliner and read the book or watch the movie. In the case it's the book. (PLEASE excuse the way I look, NO make-up and wet hair. and no I'm NOT pregnant, although this picture seems to make me look like I am HA)

Reading didn't last long. She was more interested in the movie. How cute does she look?

So now we get the cookies and milk ready for Santa. Then it's off too sweet dreams.

That's it! I hope this is something Kynlie looks forward to each year. I can not wait to wake up in the morning and Kynlie see what Santa has brought her.

Merry CHRISTmas everyone. May God bless you and your families.

OH...and guess what????

IT SNOWED TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you can't tell in the picture that it's snowing but it was. It snowed all day off and on. Yesterday it was 75 degrees and today it's snowing and it's in the 20's.

That's Texas Y'all!!

Dog Sitting

I am the last person who should be dog sitting. Don't get me wrong I do not hate animals, I'm just not a dog lover (or cat). They are very cute and fun....I'm sure, but I do not want to own one. I was asked by my brother to keep his black lab while him, my SIL, niece, and n-laws went to Lake Tahoe snow skiing (lucky "dogs" HA) so I said of course I will. I'm a good sister....no matter what he might say ;)

Meet Roxy

Isn't she beautiful?!?

Kynlie sure does like her

We've been having fun playing with her. We as in Brad and Kynlie, I just sat back and watched. I was "attacked" by a dog when I was in the third grade and I haven't gotten over yet...HA. Remember mom?

It's been nice while its lasted, but it didn't make me want one. Between both sides of the family, my parents and brother and Brad's parents and sister, there are 11 dogs (no kidding), 3 cats, 5 horses, some goats, 2 birds (gross), 2 guinea pigs (aka rat look a likes), and I think a hampster (gross), so there is no need in us getting animals, we'll just go visit one of the zoo's in our family. HA!

Living Christmas Tree

Sunday night, Brad, Kynlie, & I went to Baylor Baptist, the church I grew up in, for the Living Christmas Tree. I have enjoyed going to this program for so long. I don't think I've missed a year yet. I use to preform in it too, with some of my friends. I have to say, I think it's the most moving Christmas program. The music and the sermon is wonderful!

This is the tree before it gets full of signing people. (notice the single white ribbon? It's in memory of a church member who was tragically killed the week before the program. That ribbon marks the spot where she would have sung. It was a very emotional tribute)

This was the opening act. The youth put on a puppet show and they sang "He Was Born In A Barn" the cutest song ever!!

This guy can play his heart out on a trumpet! He played some of the most beautiful Christmas songs, brought tears to my eyes! (he also does a great job at the wedding march)

This is what the tree looks like when it's all full of people. Isn't neat?!

If you look close, you can see the cross in Christmas lights

This was my favorite part of the whole show. They sang "Oh Holly Night" and I cried...as I always do during this song.

This was the end, when they sang "Go Light Your Candle"

A girl sang one of my favorite songs this year "A Baby Changes Everything" by Faith Hill... Oh my word...it's a beautiful song. You should go hear it, if you haven't
The service was amazing!!! I can not wait till next years!
