Polka Princess

"Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie...Who's Not Ready Holler I..." (It's a Polka song)

This past weekend was our towns 43rd National Polka Fest. Everyone in our town plus some gather Friday, Saturday, & Sunday to Celebrate Polka Fest. It starts off Friday night at one of the halls with a dance and they crown a Polka King and Polka Queen. Saturday everyone gets up really early and heads down town for the Parade! I'm telling you...100s gather for this parade. It's a lot of fun! After the parade everyone and their dog (literally) walk around and check out all the cool booths set up and eat some of the best food ever!! Most people will spend the day down town just walking around, eating, drinking, visiting, or head over to one of the halls to eat. That night all three halls have some kind of band playing and this is what the town normally does Polka Fest night. Sunday, it starts all over again (without the parade), but the booths, food, and music is still there. It truly is a lot of fun.

Our Polk Weekend

We started out Friday night at my best friends parents house, Gary and Kelley. We just hung around by the pool while the guys played a little horseshoes. We didn't stay too long, we knew we had to be up early to get ready for the parade.

Saturday

We got Kynlie all dressed up in her first Polka out fit. She was a Polka Princess. Thanks Pam! Then we headed down town for the parade (which was delayed about an hour due to a train). Kynlie was in such a great mood that morning and loved looking at all the people and being outside. It was a little hot, but we managed. She then feel a sleep while we were waiting for the parade to start, but then woke up soon after it did, because of one of the floats had a very load band. But she woke up in a good mood and finished watching the parade.

After that, me, Brad, Kynlie, and my parents headed over to the KJT (a hall) for some awesome lunch. The traditional Czech food and listen to one of the Czech bands play. It was great!

Then we went home real fast to feed Kynlie and she ended up taking a nap (so did mommy) for about 1 hour.

After the well needed nap, we headed over to Gary and Kelley's again to go swimming. Kynlie's first time to swim!! She LOVED it! (after getting us to the cold water). We stayed there for a good while, just hanging out and relaxing.

That night Brad, Kynlie and I decided to go home and rest. We didn't feel like going out and fighting the crowed again. Nor did I want to get a babysitter...I'd rather spend my night with my baby girl and hubby!

Sunday
Brad, Kynlie and I finally got to walk around down town and see all the neat booths that were set up. Of course I bought some great things (mostly all for Kynlie) and we enjoyed the warm weather (after it quit raining). Then we went home just to enjoy each others company and sit outside, in our beautiful Texas weather!

Kynlie's onsie speaks the truth... "Drama Queen"

Monday
MY DAY OFF, we went to my parents house and cooked out with them. We brought Kynlie's swing so she would have something to do and so we could all just sit back and relax again in our beautiful Texas weather. Then it was back home to get ready for the work week to start up again.

All in all, I think Kynlie had a great first Polka Fest!! Momma and Daddy sure did!!

First Baby Doll & Watching Cartoons

Kynlie got her first baby doll last weekend. Thanks Memaw!! She loves it. She drags it around all through the house, everywhere she goes. She talks to her too!

Meet...Dolly!

Dragging her along with her

She thinks that's her paci

I love this face!

On Saturday, Kynlie decided to wake up at 6:00am (not good) Mommy wanted to sleep so bad and daddy had to work. So we got up and I turned on Cartoons, and she love them! They kept her occupied for a while. She watch M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E MICKEY MOUSE!!! She's always like Mickey, must be the big black ears.

Then she really liked this other cartoon, I'm not so sure of, but she liked and it kept her still...lol

POLKA Fest is this weekend. Kynlie's first POLKA WOO WOO!! Can't wait to post about it!

Praying for Bentley...and So Should You!

Over to the right of my blog you will see a button "Praying For Bentley". She is this wonderful, sweet, beautiful, STRONG, loving girl (who I have not had the chance to meet) but know she is all those things and more! Her mom and I have become "blogger friends" (I would like to think). As I am typing, this sweet girl is going through open heart surgery. This could last up to 6 hours. Bentley needs ALL the prayer and thoughts right now, that anyone could give. As do her parents, siblings, grandparents, & friends of the family. No child or parent should have to go through this. God does have a reason for it and we may never know, but we've got to trust in Him. I know (from reading) that Crystal (the mom) has a very strong faith. I pray she will not forget that and can stay strong (as hard is that may be at a time like this)
As I sit at work today, I can not stop thinking of Bentley, Crystal, and Ryan (the dad). I've teared up a few time just praying. I cry when I go over to Crystal's blog to check for updates, but I KNOW with all my HEART that Bentley is going to be okay. She have tons of prays going her way!! I trust that God will take care of this beautiful girl.

Momma's First Mothers Day

My first mothers day!!! Wow, I feel so lucky to be a part of this day now. The best gift ever is to be a mother. I had a great mothers day weekend. It started out with flower being sent to me at work from my "loving husband and daughter". I was SOOOO surprised and thought they were just beautiful!

I guess you can say I picked out my own mothers day gifts. Brad was going to take me to Kirklands in a few weeks (the best store to by decor for your home) to pick out a few items. Well, Friday night we went to Tractor Supply to get his mom some things for her yard for mothers day and I found me a Rooster for my kitchen!! My kitchen is in roosters, reds, yellows, green, & some farm animals (I love my kitchen). Then we went over to walmart and I found another rooster there. Then I found me some pillows I've been looking for, for my couch. So needless to say, that ended up being my mothers day gifts, and I was very happy about it! (no pictures of the pillows or rooster yet)

Heather had the kids make there mommas a very cute mothers day picture. This is mine! It's my first refrigerator hanging!!

Saturday we spent all day at the KJT horseshoe pits, for a benefit tournament for my sister-n-law Andie's niece, who has leukemia :( What a turn out that was! Praise God for the wonderful people that are nice enough to support her and her family. I am proud to say that Brad and his dad won 3rd place out of 50 teams! After a long long day out side Kynlie was pooped and went to bed so easily (maybe I should take her out every night...HA)

Are those not the sweetest pictures ever???

8 Months

Kynlie turned 8 months yesterday. Only 4 more months and we'll be celebrating her first birthday. It's so hard to believe time is just flying by so fast. I love every minute of it, but wish it would slow down. I love this age, she's doing so much and interacting with others so much.

So, what's Kynlie doing at 8 months:

*She's crawling all over the house
*She'll pull up on every piece of furniture or her tall toys and stands forever
*She's saying DA DA and BA BA or BU BU
*She loves to scream VERY loud, when she's playing or when she's upset
*She LOVES LOVES taking a bath and splashing the water ALL over the bathroom (she thinks it's funny)
*She knows what her bottle and paci are. She'll cry if she sees her bottle and you don't give it to her right then.
*She can take her paci in and out of her mouth to either, eat or make sounds and puts it back in
*She is letting others hold her with out crying and I can stand in the same room
*She doesn't cry (as much) when I walk out of a room
*She LOVES to swing in her outside swing
*She smiles so BIG when Daddy goes to get her out of the car when we get home at night
*She eats everything I put in her mouth. (that reminds me, we need to try chicken and gravy again and see if she likes it any better)
*She's still a breast fed baby (GO MOMMY)
*She loves it over at Mrs. Heathers with all the kids
*She cries every time I put her sleeper on :(
*She goes to bed at the same time almost every night 8:30
*She is still sleeping in her bed ALL NIGHT long!
*She takes her naps for Heather at the same time every day. (she's a good scheduled baby)
*She loves to play with her blow up ball, TV remote, plastic hangers (I know weird), and my cell phone
*She's getting a little hair and it looks like it might be brown
*Her eyes are starting to change. They are a little blue, green, and brown. I think they are going to be brown like mommy and her beautiful cousin Bailee. Brown hair brown eyed beauties...nothing wrong with that!!
*She pats me on my shoulder when I'm holding her (it's so sweet)
*She still looks just like her daddy
*She weighs 16 lbs and still can wear some 0-3 month clothes (depending on what it is) but I buy and she wears more of 3-6 month clothes. She's a tiny little thing

I don't have any pictures to share at the moment, but I will soon.

Driving Mommy's Car & Standing Up

That's right! Kynlie started driving already! Well, I'm sure that day will be here before Brad and I are ready. Isn't she just a cutie pie "driving" mommy's car. I was cleaning it out on Saturday and her and daddy were just hanging out in the garage and daddy sat her down for a minute and this is how she ended up....standing and "driving".

Speaking of standing!! Our sweet growing girl is pulling up on everything she can get her hands on and standing up. She loves it! We've put the legs on her toy so she can stand and play now. She's getting so big and I love every minute of it. She'll stand forever and play and talk to us. She's also trying to stand in the bath tub, but we're trying to put a stop to that...we don't want any ER visits. She's a brave one!

We have a bow puller on our hands! Momma doesn't like this :(

Tomorrow Kynlie is 8 months!
Sunday Is My FIRST Mothers Day!!!! I thank God that he's allowed me to be a Mother to this sweet precious girl.
